Murmuratorium is simultaneously a musical-theatrical “performance” and an installation that can be explored in a free and informal manner. An architectural space or a corner of the landscape is temporarily inhabited by scenic-sound objects and people, giving voice to “delicacy,” “listening,” and the “revelation of beauty,” as well as the need to “be together” in a poetic and sensitive way.
Using sound resources such as Dabo Domo’s “itinerant scintillators,” metallic bells similar to those used in Metamorfose, interactive speakers, and “murmurators,” the Companhia de Música Teatral (CMT) creates an organic scenic fabric that deeply communicates with the characteristics of the location. It emerges as a space of rupture from the frantic rhythm of daily life, proposing a “ritualization” of interiority.
The “performance” begins with an intervention in the street or an adjacent space, transforming passersby into an audience-participant with whom the musical-theatrical action unfolds.
