Nozes a quem não tem dentes – Companhia Erva Daninha (2015)

We find ourselves in a fictional universe where three figures from the real world experience a moment of fantasy. Strangers in a strange land, either just arrived or ready to leave. A field of sacks filled with memories where life takes refuge or becomes trapped. A journey where everything begins and ends, driven by motivation, manipulation, the sense of freedom, blindness, vertigo, and the abyss of loneliness.Based on popular wisdom, in “Nozes a que não tem dentes” there is a thought about the idea that there are opportunities we do not know or cannot take advantage of. The power we have over our destiny, if choices depend exclusively on us, and if we truly make choices. “Nozes a que não tem dentes” seeks to inquire whether access to things and decision-making power might be conditioned by social status, religion, gender, or conflicts. Starting from a symbolic and ironic perspective on world events that unsettle us, it seeks a reflection on free will.

What motivates us, what drives us?An intimate, poetic, and provocative universe where the circus emerges as an expression of risk and challenge in the communication of the body and its movement. Juggling, object manipulation, and aerial acrobatics are some of the disciplines that make up this tragicomic contemporary circus show. Will we all be in the right place at the right time?
