“PAISAGEM” arises from the desire to experience the dimension of art in an expanded field, drawing on different artistic languages to create an interplay between body, image, light, and sound. Video/image and music serve as fundamental sources and key aspects of both the creative process and the final piece.
As I progressed through the creative journey, I stumbled upon the works of Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota, whose art is strongly characterized by the use of lines and threads, forming large-scale installations.
“Dialogue from DNA” was the inspiration for a mutable scenography, in which approximately 400 shoes are suspended—tied with red thread—to a single vanishing point. The sensation of becoming my own “landscape” evokes an empty white canvas, an internal system that, though in motion, remains stationary.
I recreated this work (still on a small scale), adopting the concept of the white canvas—white-painted shoes, white threads, and projections walking over the white space, open to receiving any form of information.
The approach to movement induces a sense of continuity and a mantra-like quality—perpetuated by sound and repetition—sometimes transforming the body itself into the landscape.
This creation seeks to embrace the multidisciplinarity of artistic languages, fostering a dialogue between the organic and the inorganic—a conversation between the body and space.
